The Best Physical Media releases of 2022

As 2022 comes to a close now is the time to look back at the amazing year of physical media, home entertainment that was. As a physical media proponent, I am so glad to be able to say, that even with the rise of streaming services like Disney+, HBO Max, Peacock, Amazon Prime Video and many more, DVD and Blu-rays are still going strong,

So today on this final post here on Classic Cinema+ of 2022 were are going to countdown our favorite releases we have reviewed this year of 2022.  

25. The Beatles and India
This Documentary was such an interesting one and for music and Beatles fans a must see,  

24. Rain
For the 90th Anniversary of this films release, it received a pretty impressive Blu-ray release.

23. Twice Told Tales
Vincent Price in an anthology film feature three stories from Nathaniel Hawthorne.

22. They Went That-A-Way and That-A-Way
I grew up on the comedy of Tim Conway so any Conway Blu-ray is bound to make my list.

21. The Rainmaker
Katherine Hepburn and Burt Lancaster star in this drama. The film for this Blu-ray receives a 6K restoration

20. The 70s Show The Compete Series
While Not a classic TV show, it is defiantly one most will enjoy!

19. Heart and Souls
An early Robert Downey Jr. film with plenty of heart and soul now on Retro VHS Blu-ray from Mill Creek Entertainment.

18. Battle of the Worlds
The Battle is on and thanks to The Film Detective we can experience this film in HD!

17. Dr. Phibes Double Feature
Not One but two campy horror features of the great Vincent Price on Blu-ray.

16. Marty
Ernest Borgnine in his Academy Award winning role, in HD no less!

15. Canadian Bacon
MVD Visual released a Blu-ray of this John Candy comedy that make the MGM release look bad.

14. Clifford
Martin Short in his "biggest" role. Ronin gave this Blu-ray a reversible Blu-ray art work this shines.

13. Heavenly Kid
I remember watching this as a kid, now watching it again as an adult it still is pretty good!

12. King Ralph (Retro VHS Blu-ray)
I always loved John Goodman as King Ralph and this Retro VHS Blu-ray makes this home video release even better.

11. The Wonderful World of the Brothers Grimm
Warner Archive released not one but two versions of this classic on Blu-ray.

10. Where there's Life....
Bob Hope take the thrown to be king... really? Yes!

9. The Apartment
Jack Lemmon joins an all-star cast in this Billy Wilder classic.

8. A Star Is Born
Forget about the remakes check out this restored classic!

7. Arsenic and Old Lace
Criterion Collection went above and beyond and gave this Cary Grant classic a Blu-ray release it so richly deserves. 

6. Danny Thomas Show Season 4
The complete 4th season of Danny Thomas sitcom is a great source of family entertainment. 

5. Mary Shelley's Frankenstein
For the 28th anniversary of this film Arrow Video released a pretty awesome deluxe Blu-ray. 

4. Francis the Talking Mule Collection
Not 1, 2 3 or 4 but all 7 Francis films on Blu-ray. This is fun for the whole family, without a doubt

3. Sea Quest DSV.
Complete adventure under the sea on Blu-ray with bonus feature.

2. Robocop The Complete TV Series
Robocop the TV series has become a cult classic, now on Blu-ray and I couldn't be happier to have it!

1. Magnum P.I..
Tom Selleck became a star while in Hawaii bringing us adventure as a private investigator. Mill Creek Entertainment released the entire series on deluxe Blu-ray set complete with bonus features.
