Cleopatra Entertainment have been releasing some independent, low budget horror films on Blu-ray. The latest Blu-ray coming from Cleopatra Entertainment is the 2024 Japanese horror film The Beast Hand.
Synopsis: Osamu is a Japanese day laborer - is forced into a lifestyle of crime. Unfortunately, when he crosses the wrong gangsters, they punish him by Sword, amputating his left hand in the process. Osamu's ex-girlfriend Koyuki takes him to an underground Doctor deep in the dark bowels of the city to attempt a transplant. But the new hand has a mind of its own, much to the dismay of the gangsters responsible - as Osamu pursues his revenge.
Director Taichiro Natsume known for his film Love Shark creates a violent grotesque gory horror film. Even with the low budget the film is utterly believable in every aspect. The story is a bit thin, not much substance there, but if you are just looking for a gory good time, well The Beast Hand will fit the bill!
The Beast Hand has been transferred to Blu-ray in 1080p and presented in widescreen format. The audio is a Japanese language track. Don't worry if you don't speak Japanese as the film comes complete with English subtitles.
Even though this isn't a huge budget release the film still looks really nice on Blu-ray. The film transfer is crisp and clean. The audio, even though it is Japanese language is clear. There is no digital artifacts or audio anomalies that I witnessed while screening this film. The Blu-ray also has some bonus features.
