Last year we got the announcement that Kevin Smith's animated He-Man reboot entitled Master of the Universe: Revelation was coming. Fans of the original series wither were excited for another round of Eternia action or disgusted, wishing producers would leave their childhood alone.
Well, needless to say Masters of the Universe: Revelation is going forward. It will be written and directed by Keven Smith and according to Netflix the synopsis, "The war for Eternia begins again in what may be the final battle between
He-Man and Skeletor." The new series has got a pretty impressive voice cast including a voice legend to play the biggest baddie of all.
First off lending the voice to
He-Man aka Prince Adam will be Chris Wood (Supergirl and The Vampire Diaries). The captain of the Royal Guard Teela will be portrayed by Buffy the Vampire Slayer‘s very own Sarah Michelle Gellar. Liam Cunningham (Game of Thrones) will voice Man-At-Arms and Lena Headey (Games of Thrones) will be voicing Evil-Lyn. Henry Rollins will give his voice to the evil minion Tri-Klops.
Now all these are impressive. But what would a new He-Man show be if we didn't have the big Bad guy Skeletor? Well, producers went all out and got a man who voiced another iconic character. Mark Hamill, that's right, Luke Skywalker himself. The man that gave a voice to The Joker in the Batman animated series going to bring the voice to Skeletor.
Now I have to say I can't imagine a better choice for the voice of Skeletor than Mark Hamill. He has proven himself to have the chops to bring iconic characters to life.
ASs of now there is no official release date for Masters of the Universe: Revelation, but production is underway. I think it is safe to say that the show should to launch sometime this year on Netflix.
So are you excited for this new take on He-Man? Or do you feel they should leave iconic shows alone? Weigh-in in the comments below. We would love to hear your thoughts.
