B-horror-movie. Some are so bad their good and some are so bad their awful. It is hard to know which you are going to get sometimes when you go to watch one of these films. Restricted Area is one of those a low budget B-horror films.

For the horror fans Mill Creek Entertainment has got you covered giving the horror movie collectors a chance to own this one on DVD. But is is this film so bad it's good or so bad it's awful. Well, we are going to give you our take on this release.

Restricted Area follows four blue-collar friends who were recently laid off from their jobs at the steel mill. As a way to get their minds off the layoff, the foursome take one last camping trip into the wilderness. Soon after they arrive they discover a backwoods cult with a horrific agenda. In order to survive, they must fight for their lives.

Now on the surface, this sounds like a really good B-Horror film and the idea is good. The writing and direction of Christopher M. Don bring a creepy and suspense-filled atmosphere to this film. The acting is typical cheesy B-Movie bad overacting and does very little to help this script. And for gore fans the kills are hid to mask the low budget.

Now this film is not for everyone. I have to say this is for the collectors of those really bad horror films. That is who this release is for. And those collectors are out there. But if you expecting a great horror film. This one is not for you.

As for Mill Creek Entertainment's DVD release. The film is presented in widescreen format in 1.78:1 aspect ratio and in 2.0 Audio. The film transfer for looks really good on the DVD. The DVD also houses bonus features including; a trailer and a 15 minute blooper and outtake reel. The DVD is really good release, it's just the movie is not great.
