I like many people have loved science fiction ever since I can remember! Even though I wasn't a kid of the 60s, I can imagine how cool it was to see the cartoon TV adventures of Scott McCloud code name Space-Angel.

The good folks at Alpha Video have been releasing these cartoons in volume format on DVD! Now comes the next installment of adventures with Volume 9. Let's take a look at what is included in this collection.

Our Rating System:
****=Don’t Miss it!
***=Worth a look.
**=An Ok way to spend 22 minutes.
*=You haven’t missed anything.

The Encoder: Entire cities are being teleported to another galaxy by a mysterious interplanetary craft of unknown origin. ***

The Plagued Planet: The Starduster lands on an irradiated planet overrun by giant mutant insects. ***

Cosmic Search: Crystal is abducted by the Anthenians, the warlike race who are sworn enemies of the Space Force. **

The Plot: Zora, the evil Queen of Outer Space, holds the Space Council for ransom in exchange for a powerful super weapon. ***

Space Angel was produced in Syncro-Vox an animation technique where the actors mouths were filmed and than superimposed onto the still images. This was the second series to use this process. The episodes were short serialized and 5 parts ran a complete story arc. Some may find this process a bit of a crude kind of animation, but it is a part of history.

The majority of artwork for Space Angel was created by comic legends Alex Toth and
Doug Wildey. These episode are like flipping through a classic sci-fi comic book! The audio and video quality of the episodes on this set are clear quality there is some minor specks in the picture but nothing that should detract from the artwork!

So if you have nostalgia for old 60s sci-fi TV this is a good add to your collection head over to Oldies.com and pick up your copy today.
