Clutch Cargo Volume 6 {DVD Review}

Reviewed by Jason S. Lockard

In the 50s kids marveled at the adventures on television. One of the amazing adventures was that of Clutch Cargo a pilot who takes on dangerous assignments, along with his young pal, Spinner, and their dog, Paddlefoot.

Clutch Cargo was a serialized adventure cartoon running about 4 minutes an episode. It gave audiences a new version of entertainment it was what was called Syncro-Vox. It was an animation system where voice actors were filmed as they delivered their dialog, and their moving lips were superimposed over still drawings of the characters' faces.

Alpha Video has been keeping this cartoon series alive by releasing it on DVD in Volume format. Now comes the next release Volume 6. Lets take a look at what is included in this volume.

Our Rating System:
****=Don’t Miss it!
***=Worth a look.
**=An Ok way to spend 20 minutes.
*=You haven’t missed anything.

Dragon Fly: A giant dragonfly is spooking the residents of an Indian reservation. **

Sky Circus
: Clutch agrees to an air race against the mysterious Masked Marvel. **

Midget Submarine: An abandoned atomic submarine could start a war if it isn't recovered. **

Cliff Dwellers: Clutch and company discover a lost Indian village in the desert. **

There is a certain nostalgia to this series. Probably that's what makes this a must see. The animation seems a bit crude by today's standards. And some people may think that the Syncro-Vox is a bit stupid, but let's be honest people it was the 50s.

The stories are OK for small children and they are good clean kid friendly fun. Now how many shows today can you say that for? The audio and video of these episodes are clear and look good on my big screen. So I am satisfied for what it is!

So if you have nostalgia for old 50s TV and cartoons this is a good add to your collection head over to Oldies.com and pick up your copy today.
