Get Outta' town (1960) {DVD Review}

Reviewed By Jason S. Lockard

In this 50s and 60s their were things at the theaters called double bills. No that wasn't paying twice the price for a ticket. It was when you got to see two films for the price of one. But the thing was these films were B films, not big Hollywood film. One such film on the double bill was Get Outta town. Now Alpha Video is giving us the fans a chance to own this film on DVD.

The film follows former gangster Kelly Olsen who is back in town for the funeral of his brother Tommy. Kelly knows that his old gang are responsible for his brother's murder and his is looking for revenge.

This is typical B movie fare from the old days. Some people can not stand those old b movies. Me I find them a lot of fun. And for me this one was no different. With the cast your not going to find any stars in this one, but in a way this adds a sense of realism for me. The soundtrack is probably the true star of this film. As multi Grammy award winning Jazz musician Bill Holman lends his talents.

The film runs just over an hour and in places that can even feel a little long. The audio and video of the film on this DVD looks and sounds pretty good for a film that is almost 60 years old. There is no bonus features on this release, but that is a minor complaint.

This release is not for everyone! This one is for those true B movie fans and film noir junkies! If that sounds like you than defiantly add this one to your collection! Head over to www.Oldies.com and check out this and other great releases from there amazing library of releases!
