Studio One Presents Suspense Volume 3 (1950-52) {DVD Review}

When television came into the home it wasn't long after that companies began making weekly dramatic plays for families to sit down and enjoy together. One of the best shows to do this was Studio One. Now they great folks at Alpha Video bring us a double feature of these stories on DVD with this collection entitled, "Studio One Suspense Volume 3!" Let's take a look at the episodes included.

PLAN FOR ESCAPE: Former showgirl Honey Weber is the wife of the city's top mobster. But when he is killed by rival gangsters, she witnesses the crime and escapes to the country for the quiet life. But his killers will stop at nothing to make sure she never rats on them.  ***

THE BLONDE COMES FIRST: A career conman takes a seemingly naive girl under his wing, not realizing she's secretly a private investigator. ***

These two episode feature amazing star including; Lee Bowman, Elisabeth Fraser; who played Joan Sgt. Bilko's girlfriend on The Phil Silvers Show, Peggy Ann Garner (A Tree grows in Brooklyn), Ann Seymour (Field of Dreams) and many more.

This DVD presents both of these tv dramas complete with original commercials. There are some imperfections in the picture and sound on these TV plays, but you have to understand these are kinescope recording, better copies simply do not exist.
