Remembering Robert Duvall: A Tribute to a Legendary Hollywood Icon and Oscar-Winning Actor

Monday, February 16, 2026, we received reports that Academy Award-winning actor Robert Duvall had passed away at the age of 95 at his ranch in Virginia. The report was given by his wife Luciana Pedraza.

Robert Duvall started his acting career on the stage and then quickly transitioned to television guest starring n shows like, Alfred Hitchcock Presents,  The Untouchables,The Twilight Zone, The Outer Limits, The Fugitive, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, The Time Tunnel, The Wild Wild West, The F.B.I., and The Mod Squad.

Robert would make his film debut in the classic To Kill A Mockingbird. But in the late 60s into the 70s is when he established his name as a Hollywood superstar with such roles as "Lucky" Ned Pepper in True Grit (1969), Frank Burns in the film M*A*S*H* (1971), Tom Hagen in The Godfather (1972) and The Godfather Part II (1974) and Lt. Colonel Kilgore in Apocalypse Now (1979).

Robert was nominated for Academy Award but it wasn't until 1983's film Tender Mercies that he won his only Oscar for Best Actor as country western singer Mac Sledge.

Over the years I have had the extreme pleasure to review many physical media releases featuring Robert Duvall. And at this somber time it is nice to look back at this amazing performances.

While the world has lost a legendary actor, he has left behind a huge catalouge of performances that audiences have enjoyed and future generations will enjoy. Yes Robert Duvall will love on even though he is no longer with us.

Rest In Peace Robert Duvall. Thanks for the great fillms.
