Reviewed by Jason Lockard

Kung Fu movies offer a lot of action with out all the flashy CGI effect. These men and women are remarkably athletic as well as being pretty good actors. 88 Films released on special edition Blu-ray The Chinese Boxer you can read the review of that release here.

But one amazing release was just not enough! So 88 Films are bringing us another does of Kung Fu action of a deluxe Blu-ray release. This time around it is 1975s Disciples of Shao Lin.

Impetuous young martial arts master Kuan Fung Yi takes a job at a textile factory where another disciple of the revered Shaolin discipline warns him about the rival Manchu clan, who run another nearby mill.

The Shaw Brothers were known for their Kung Fu movies. Disciples of Shao Lin not only brings us a lot of impressive martial art action, but the story speaks to much deeper social issues the abuse of workers and the corruption of cruel bosses.

The film has been remastered from an original 35mm negative and transferred in 1080p in 2.35:1 aspect ratio. As for the soundtrack, there is two options the original
2.0 DTS-HD MA Mandarin Soundtrack with newly translated English Subtitles and the option for a 2.0 DTS-HD MA English Soundtrack.

This new remastered transfer is truly something remarkable. It looks and sounds gorgeous on Blu-ray. Fans of 70s Kung Fu Cinema are going to be so impressed with this transfer words can not do it justice.

Now just like the previous release of The Chinese Boxer 88 Film have added some really nice bonus features to this Blu-ray release. Take a look at the features added in this set.
