The Dick Cavett Show Inside the minds Volume 3

Reviewed by Jason Lockard

When you think of classic interviewers you probably think Johnny Carson or David Letterman, but what about Dick Cavett?! For almost 30 years Dick Cavett interviewed almost every person from every field, sport, Hollywood, politics and more.

S'More Entertainment decided to release collections of Dick Cavett interviews with some of the most amazing comedians.  Earlier they released 'Inside the minds volume 1 and 2' on DVD. You can read those review Volume 1 and Volume 2!

Now it's time for Volume 3 of Inside the minds of comedians with Dick Cavett. Let's take a look at what is included in this collection!

Disc 1:

Redd Foxx:
On July 14, 1969 Redd is part of
a panel with Patty Duke, Richard Attenborough and James J. Kirkpatrick. Good to note Redd has a small interview segment in this episode

Dick Gregory:
There are two shows with Gregory. The first one from May 5, 1972 and he is part of a
panel with Alan Arkin. Than the second show took place August 16, 1990 this show is one on one, with Cavett.

Disc Two:

Eddie Murphy:
This show took place on November 4, 1985 and is an amazingly eye opening one on one interview between Dick and Eddie.

Richard Pryor:
This show took place on December 16, 1985 and is an amazingly eye opening one on one interview. It is cool to see Richard here after his burning accident.

All of these are full length episodes. They were
shot on videotape and presented in 4:3 format. So the quality is not high definition, but I find that is some of it's charm. It is good to note that these interviews there is some drug talk, adult themes and language. So these are not for the small kids.

The episodes are a really good snapshot into the past. We get a lot of insight into what made these comedians laugh and what inspires them. I really am glad to add this one to my collection. I can relive these interviews time and time again.

So If you love unabashed interviews. If your a fans of Redd Foxx, Eddie Murphy, Richard Pryor and Dick Gregory this DVD it a must own! I highly recommend this one! Head over to MVDshop.com or at Amazon.com and pick up your copy today.
