Hal Roach is known as the King of Comedy! Probably being best known for the Our Gang or Laurel and Hardy short films. But Hal Roach produced so many feature films in his career as well. The problem is when you make so many films many our forgotten.

Well, VCI Entertainment solved that with the release of a triple feature of comedy films from Hal Roach that have been forgotten over they years. Let's take a look at the films in this collection.

Our Rating System:
****=Don’t Miss it!
***=Worth a look.
**=An Ok way to spend an evening.
*=You haven’t missed anything.

The Housekeeper’s Daughter (1939) - After a murder involving a gangster the gangster's girl runs home to mother, with reporters and amateur detectives hot on her tail. This was the film debut of Victor Mature. (80 minutes) ***

Turnabout (1940) -  A spoiled well-off bickering husband and wife Tim and Sally Willows. After a very stressful day for both of them. They both think the other has it easier and express themselves to a statue of Buddha. the next morning they awake to quite a surprise. (83 Minutes) ****

Road Show (1941) - Rich playboy Drogo Gaines is about to be married to a gold digger, so he fakes insanity. Problem solved! Not quite Problem just beginning as he wakes up in an asylum full of comical lunatics. (87 Minutes) ***

All three films are on one DVD. Now you would think the quality of the video would suffer from this! But in reality, the video quality is crisp and sharp and the audio is crystal clear. If you have never seen a Hal Roach comedy feature film, I have one question for you, "where have you been?!" This is a great little snapshot of the genius of Hal Roach! I can't recommend it enough!

So unlock the time capsule and add this Hal Roach triple feature to your collection! This is a really good collection of forgotten films from a forgotten time. I highly recommend it. Head over to www.SprocketVault.com today.
