Warner Archive have been making available classic TV shows for home video release on the Made-on-Demand service. Many of these show will more than likely never see an actual big release again. Sadly there is just not a big demand in this generation.

TV these days are all about game shows, reality shows ect. And the actual family sitcom is just gone away. Well we got the extreme pleasure to review the MOD DVD of Alice Season 1. You can read that review here. But now it is on to season 2.

Alice is not so much the new girl in town in season two. But still trying to get acclimated to a Arizona. Still making ends meet by working a Mel's Diner while dreaming of being a singer.

In these season all the gang at Mel's Diner are back for another round of fun, but we also get special guest appearances by TV Legends George Burns and Desi Arnaz and Country music legend The Snowman himself Jerry Reed.

Sometimes when a series is a smash hit like Alice Season 1 was. The second season doesn't live up to the first season. I have to say the second season is even better than the first one. Everyone seems to have grown into their characters and they know who they are. The chemistry between Alice, Flo and Vera are perfect and Mel is exceptional as the tough as nails but heart of gold boss. And the relationship between Alice and Tommy is flawless.

This DVD set houses all 24 episodes on 3 DVDs. The episodes have been transferred in their original full screen format and in 1.37:1 aspect ratio. I ran a bitrate test and on the high end these episodes run from between 7 and 8 Mbps. So these episode have a great bitrate. I am really impressed with the clarity of the picture and the audio , when you think of the age of these episodes. This is a very welcomed addition to the Alice series.

As a fan of the 70's TV I can not thank
Warner Archive enough for making this show available made-on-demand. You can own the series on streaming, but you are going to pay a lot more than you will with this DVD set. So to me having a physical copy, it's a no-brainer.

So if you are a fan of 70s sitcoms. And you are looking for a good show to watch with the entire family, you can't go wrong with Alice Season One. Head over to Amazon.com and get your copy today and don't forget to stop by WarnerArchive.com and see all the other great products they have to offer.
