Warner Archive Collection has been releasing animation from classics Hanna-Barbera to Tom and Jerry to, yes, the iconic Looney Tunes. After several volumes of Collector's Choice Blu-rays, they moved to the Collector's Vault.
A little under a year ago, physical media fans were thrilled at the value of the Looney Tunes Collector's Vault Volume 1. 50 classic cartoons on Blu-ray. But now, after a long 9 months, it is time for Volume 2 to be released.
Synopsis: A second helping of Looney Tunes vault rarities-over 50 classic cartoons, each marking their first time on Blu-ray , with many unseen in decades. These Looney Tunes cartoons have been restored and transferred to Blu-ray in 1080p and are presented in 1.37:1 aspect ratio. The audio is an English DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0. There are also English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing.
These cartoons are taken from around four decades of entertainment. And they are a wonderful mix of some of the best characters in the Looney Tunes ensemble. Warner Archive Collection's restoration and transfers to Blu-ray are sharp, and the colors are bright and vibrant. There are only a few instances of soft picture quality, but even those look pretty good.
Now, as for bonus features. Well, there are just audio commentaries on select cartoons. There is no interviews or retrospectives. A little disappointing, but when you think about this release, you are getting 2 Blu-ray discs and 50 classic Looney Tunes cartoons. That is pretty epic. You can't complain.
