Shane McMahon has been MIA since WWE WrestleMania 39 where he suffered a torn quadriceps injury in his impromptu match with former ally The Miz. But it is being reported by Conrad Thompson, that Shane McMahon has reached out to All Elite Wrestling about a potential role.
On his podcast, Conrad Thompson shared that he had learned that Shane had inquired about an All-Elite role. He said, “There was a friend of ours. He went out of his way to text me, ‘Hey, that [Shane joining AEW] is not as crazy as you think. I know for sure that Shane McMahon has reached out to wrestlers on the AEW roster to at least hypothetically discuss the idea.”
To make matters even more interesting on the “Grilling JR” podcast, Jim Ross said he wouldn’t rule out Shane in AEW now that Vince McMahon is no longer with WWE.
Shane McMahon is more than just an on screen character. Shane while in WWE has held many roles including EVP of Global Media, and as part of the promotion’s creative team.
While this is AEW not WWE and Vince his father would be no where around. This could be a good thing for AEW. There is no doubt that the stories have suffered in AEW and attendance is down. To book 4 shows a week is a daunting task. Tony Khan may need someone with experience. Maybe Shane McMahon is the experience!
Now to be clear AEW employees know nothing of the possibility of Shane McMahon coming to AEW! They only heard what Conrad said. It is being reported that there was a conversation between an Ex-WWE and now AEW talent and Shane. They talked about how the crowd would go wild if Shane walked out on Wednesday Night Dynamite. Tony Khan has had no conversations with Shane McMahon. That is about all this is... a fabrication from Conrad Thompson!
