Ghoulies II (1988) 4k UltraHD Review

In the 1980s and 90s Charles Band films were big business. People would go to the video stores to rent his films for a night of cheesy fun. Charles Band was known for taking big blockbuster films and making cheap knock-off versions.

One of the films that he did was Ghoulies. This film was inspired by the classic Gremlins. Ghoulies are some slimy, winged goblins who crawl out of toilets and wreak major amounts of havoc.

Well, after seeing the success of the first film no doubt there would be a second one. Earlier MVD Visual release Ghoulies on 4K UltraHD, now it is time for Ghoulies II to shine on a deluxe 4K UltraHD and Blu-ray combo pack.

Synopsis: The demonic, toilet-dwelling goblins are back! Stowed away in "Satan's Den," the traveling House of Horror operated by carnival workers Larry and Uncle Ned, the Ghoulies merrily devour the sideshow attraction's patrons... until Larry realizes his horror house is for real and tries to flee the scene! Deliciously outrageous special effects and over-the-top antics ratchet up the horrific fun!

Of course we all realize this is not Gremlins.
If you have seen Charles Band produced films, you know these are cheesy off the wall crazy films. But that is the fun of his films. Ghoulies II proves to be a bit more fun that the original film. The cast is better especially with the addition of Royal Dano (Spaced Invaders).

This film features a brand new 4K Restoration. Just like the previous 4K UltraHD restoration of Ghoulies, Ghoulies II looks stellar. The picture is crisp and clean and the audio is as clear as a bell! But a beautiful restoration is not all that this release has going for it!
