Star Trek Lower Deck Season 4: DVD Review

Star Trek was a revolutionary series created by Gene Roddenbury. The iconic original series gave us the characters we will never forget like Captain Kirk, Spock, Dr. McCoy, Scottty, Uhura, and many more.

Through the years we have seen more tales from the universe of Star Trek Like The Next Generation, Voyager, Enterprise, and even to newer series like Picard. Paramount+ had debuted a cartoon series entitled Star Trek Lower Decks. So popular has this series been it has already ran for 4 seasons.

But if you are a physical media fan like me, as cool as streaming is, there is nothing like holding a DVD or Blu-ray in your hand and checking out a movie or series. Well, Paramount Pictures Home Entertainment have released Star Trek Lower Decks Season 4 on DVD!

In Season 4 of Star Trek Lower Decks, an unknown force is destroying starships and threatening galactic peace. Luckily, the crew of the U.S.S. Cerritos isn't important enough for stuff liek that! Instead, Engigns Marier, Boimler, Teddi, Ritherford and Provisional Ensign T'Lyn are keeping up with their Starfeelt duties, avoiding malevolent computers and getting stuck in a couple of caves - all while encountering new and classic aliens along the way.

Season 4 continues the story of these lower decks trying to rise in the ranks. Become full fledge members of the crew and starting their journey in the star fleet.
You can tell that the producers of this animated show really love the Star Trek Universe. Without spoiling anything storylines from other Star Trek shows Voyager and Deep Space Nine are brought into episodes here.

To be totally honest Lower Decks is not going to appeal to everyone. Star Trek purists may not find the quirky, funny episodes as cannon. But it is defiantly entertaining! As for the voice  guest stars we hear Jack McBrayer (30 Rock), Andy Richter (Late Night with Conan O’Brien), Wil Wheaton (Star Trek: The Next Generation), and more!

Something that I truly enjoy is the more classic style of animation. Everything is the computer animation now. And for the most part (in my humble opinion) it just looks terrible. But Lower Decks looks great!

Now each season consists of 10 episodes and season 4 is no different. So, for this 2-disc DVD Set of Star Trek Lower Decks Season 4, Each Disc consists of Five episodes.

Disc One
: Twovix / I Have No Bones Yet I Must Flee / In the Cradle of Vexilon / Something Borrowed, Something Green / Empathological Fallacies

The episodes have been transferred to DVD and are presented in widescreen format and the audio is a 5.1 Dolby Digital. There is also the option for English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing.
