In 1960, she starred alongside David Niven for the comedy Please Don't Eat the Daisies. Warner Archive Collection has taken this family classic, restored it, and released it on Blu-ray for the first time ever.
Synopsis: Kate Mackay (Doris Day) has four boys who someday may lend their names to hurricanes. A monstrosity of a country fixer-upper that needs its lower fixed too. And a poison-pen, drama-critic hubby (David Niven) who sees plays under the worst possible circumstances!
Please Don't e\Eat the Daisies may not be Doris Day's greatest film, but it is a fun family frolic that you will never forget. I remember watching this film as a young kid with my parents on a family movie night and it stuck with me all these years. Watching it again the fun is still there in full force. Doris Day and David Niven are great in this film.
Warner Archive Collection has transferred this film to Blu-ray in 1080p and is presented in 2.35:1 Letterbox Aspect Ratio. The audio track is an English DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 MONO track. There is also the option for English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing.
The picture quaility of this restoration is amazing. The colors are vibrant, the fleshtones are correct and the audio is clear. I didn't see one defect in the picture when screening this film. Warner Archive really puts the work into these restorations making them the absolute best possible.
