Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story (2007) Walmart Exclusive Steelbook Review

John C. Reilly is an Academy Award nominated actor that was in such classics as, Boogie Nights, The Thin Red Line, Magnolia, Gangs of New York, The Aviator, Chicago and The River Wild. But he is probably best remembered for his performances in off the wall comedies like Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby (2006) and Step Brothers (2008).

In 2007 he starred in the raunchy, comedy parody of the biopic genre. In this film John C. Reilly plays "rock legend" Dewey Cox. Now Mill Creek Entertainment and Walmart have joined forced to bring this film to deluxe Steelbook so physical media fans can enjoy this release for years to come.

Dewey Cox (John C. Reilly) had it all: the women (over 411 served), the friends (Elvis, The Beatles) and the rock 'n' roll lifestyle (a close and personal relationship with every pill and powder known to man). But most of all, he had the music that transformed a dimwitted country boy into the greatest American rock star who never lived.

Walk Hard is a wild parody of rock and roll singers lifestyles. The music is great, the comedy is funny and the performances are amazing. But make no mistake about it, this film is filled adult language, sexual content, graphic nudity, drugs and alcohol. This is not a family film.. not at all!

While not a commercial success, Walk Hard The Dewey Cox Story has gained cult status over the less than two decades from its initial release. And because it is a cult film fans of this film are going to be crazy for this Steelbook release.

Walk Hard has been transferred to Blu-ray in 1080p and is presented in 2.40:1 aspect ratio. The Audio is a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1. There is also the option for English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing.

The film transfer looks and sounds amazing. The picture is crisp and the audio is clean. There is no signs of digital artifacts that I could witness. It is a tremendous looking copy of the film. But this is not your ordinary Steelbook release. This thing is loaded with bonuses. Take a look at what is included.
