Taxi Hunter (1993) Blu-ray Review

Asian Cinema having been getting deluxe Blu-ray releases from 88 Films. Physical media fans have been enjoying these Blu-ray such as Gorgeous, In the line of Duty I-IV, Chinese Boxer, Magnificent Warriors, Disciples of Shao Lin and Super Cop 3.

Well, now is the time for another Asian Cinema release to enjoy the deluxe treatment from 88 Films. This time it is the team-up of director Herman Yau and star Anthony Wong in 1993's film Taxi Hunter.

After his pregnant wife perishes through the actions of a careless (and callous) cabby, mild-mannered Ah Kin (Anthony Wong) declares war on the entire profession - and you don't need "the knowledge" to know he won't be leaving a tip.

The story is a brilliant
one. All about as every man that finds himself forced into a situation that brings out the worst in him. Causing him to go places he would never have dreamed he would. As I watched this film I wondered how many of us if we were put in the same situation wouldn't be tempted. It's human nature to want to seek revenge for evil done.

Herman Yau expertly directed this action film, making an edge of your seat adventure that You will want to watch over and over again. Anthony Wong is tremendous as the Ah Kin. You really sympathize
with him and go along for his revenge ride.

Taxi Hunter has been transferred to Blu-ray on 1080p in 1.85:1 aspect ratio. The soundtrack 2.0 Cantonese Mono with English subtitles. The colors are bright and vibrant,
and the picture quality is sharp. There is no signs of damage to this print. Fans of Asian Cinema are going to love this Blu-ray.

Now a nice-looking
transfer is not all that this Blu-ray has going for it. Not by a longshot. When 88 Films produces a Blu-ray that go all out and all in and make these releases physical media fans dreams come true. Take a look at the bonuses included in this Blu-ray release.
