Now 88 Films recently released a deluxe Blu-ray edition of a Jackie Chan film entitled Gorgeous. But they didn't stop there... Oh no! Now they have upgraded to 4K with their next Jackie Chan release. This time around is 1992's Police Story 3: Super Cop!
To infiltrate a drug cartel, police Inspector Chan Ka Kui (Jackie Chan, Rush Hour, Rumble in the Bronx) goes undercover in a Chinese prison. There, he earns the trust of Panther (Yuen Wah, Kung Fu Hustle), a cartel member, by breaking him out of prison. With the help of another undercover agent (Michelle Yeoh, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon), they travel to Hong Kong and join up with Panther's gang. Ka Kui is accepted by the gang's leader (Ken Tsang), but his operation is jeopardized when Ka Kui's girlfriend (Maggie Cheung, Hero) accidentally reveals his true identity.
Super Cop is an action packed movie that truly keep you on the edge of your seat. Now we now what to expect with Jackie Chan full break neck speed stunts. But the interesting thing in this film is that Michelle Yeoh goes move for move stunt for stunt with Jackie. Major props to her for that! The film is a great mix of violent drama with slapstick comedy. Talk about a mashup!
Police Story III: Supercop is presented on UltraHD from 88 Films in 2160p transfer in 2.39:1. As for audio options there are quite a few to choose from. The Hong Kong cut offers Cantonese Dolby Atmos, Cantonese DTS-HD 2.0 Mono and a Home Video Mix in Cantonese DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0, as well as an English dub in DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 Mono. The U.S. Cut features DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 in English and Cantonese in DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 Mono. The Atmos track offers an audio upgrade.
Seeing this film presented in Ultra HD makes viewing this film even better! The colors are vibrant that picture is crisp and sharp and the audio is clear as a bell. But a simply stunning looking transfer is not all that is included on this massive UltraHD set. Take a look at what is included.
