When I think witches the first thing that comes to my mind is Samantha and Endora. Probably because I was brought up on classic TV like Bewitched. Or probably like many I religiously watched Wizard of OZ or Disney's Hocus Pocus. But there have been many films over the years that focused on witches.
Witches make for great entertainment during the Halloween season and film producers know that. That is why there are so many films that feature them, from comedies, adventure and yes even horror films. The latest film to deal with witches is 2021's Two Witches. Now the good folks at Arrow Video have given this film a deluxe Blu-ray release.
Two Wtiches is a mini-anthology movie. There are not several stories include here just two stories that are connected. This this is why I called it a mini anthology movie.
#1: “The Boogeywoman” follows a pregnant Sarah out to dinner with her partner Simon when she sees a white eyed old crone staring at her through the restaurant window. She begins having hallucinations and experiencing strange phenomena which she blames on the woman.
#2: “Masha” follows a young woman named Masha who we’re introduced to as she tries to strangle a man during sex. She lives with her roommate Rachel and claims it’s her destiny to inherit her grandmother’s dark powers when she dies, which could be any day.
Writer/Director Pierre Tsigaridis weaves a horror tale in this his first feature film. Two Witches stars Rebekah Kennedy (To the Bone), Kristina Klebe (Rob Zombie's Halloween), Belle Adams (Perry Mason), and Tim Fox (Westworld).
The film has some stunning visuals, but sadly the stories feels a bit clunky to me. It seemed as though this would have been a much better short film. The film seems to drag from like padding of the story to make it feature length.
Two Witches has been transferred into high definition (1080p) with the option for original lossless stereo audio or 5.1 DTS-HD MA surround audio. There is also English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing. The film looks and sounds great on Blu-ray and as for bonus feature well Arrow Video added some nice bonus features to this disc. Take a look at what is included.

In the final analysis Two Witches has great visuals, but a clunky story and not the best of acting performances, but I have seen worse horror films. The movie looks great on Blu-ray and a good amount of bonus features, making this release a must for fans of this film.
If you are interested in checking out Two Witches I recommend the Blu-ray release. It looks great in HD and the special features are a nice bonus. Head over to Amazon and order your copy today.
