In the late 1990s the band Wilco rose to fame thanks to their albums like 'Summerteeth' and 'Yankee Hotel Foxtrot'. A member of this band was the amazing Jay Walter Bennett, a multi-instrumentalist, engineer, producer, and singer-songwriter.
Sadly Jay Bennett passed away way before his time at the age of 45, leaving fans to dream of all the amazing music that we lost out on. Now What were we thinking films produced a documentary tracking the life, times and tragic end to the life of this music visionary.
This is a 1hour 43 minute in-depth documentary on the music genius Jay Bennett. This documentary tracks his early life, Jay's self taught talent to play basically any instrument. His rise and ultimate fall from the group Wilco. How this effected him and his early demise from a prescription painkiller Fentanyl overdose.
Used in this documentary is archival full screen footage of Jay and the band's music and raw animation to enhance the story telling.
This is an extremely interesting documentary. But it is good to note there is some adult language. It's not overtly bad. But parental discretion is advised.
This film has been transferred in 1080p in 1.78:1 aspect ratio. The soundtrack is a 2.0 PCM stereo track. There is also an option for English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing. The documentary looks and sounds amazing for the most part. The archival footage isa bit rough but that can be expected as these were shot before there was a thing called "high definition".
