The latest film is Bad Counselors. Capturing the fun of summer camp movies like Ernest Goes to Camp or Meatballs, but puts a Christian spin on it. Now this 2026 film has been released on DVD for physical media fans to enjoy over and over again.
Synopsis: Hungover, handcuffed, and two weeks from facing expulsion, two party-hard frat bros must serve 120 hours of community service. Their answer to prayer? Faking it as Christian camp counselors. Their problem? They wouldn’t know a hymn from a hot dog.
Bad Counselors has a great story and good acting. But there are a couple cringy bad acting moments with the counselors. Of course it is meant to be bad, but it is embarrassingly bad, not funny. The music is great and the story is a story of redemption, which is always nice.
Bad Counselors has been transferred to DVD in widescreen format in 1.85:1 aspect ratio. The audio is an English Dolby Digital track. There are also English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing.
Now, as for Bonus features, this DVD has none. There is no bonus interviews, no audio commentary, not even a trailer. For me, that is a huge disappointment as I really enjoy going behind the scenes after watching a film and learning more about the film from that cast.
Still, all things considered, Bad Counselors is not a bad movie. It would be a pretty fun watch for any family looking for a night of family entertainment with a sprinkle of faith in it.
