One man can truly change the direction of a nation. In a world where we are seeing evil leaders and pointless wars, Kingstone Comics released a graphic novel that records the historical account of the Prince of Russia, Vladimir Yaroslavich.
Vladimir Yaroslavich reigned as prince of Novgorod from 1036 until his death in 1052. He was the eldest son of Yaroslav I the Wise of Kiev by Ingigerd, daughter of king Olof Skötkonung of Sweden. Now his story of transformation and leading a nation to redemption is captured in visual format.
Vladimir, Prince of Novrogod, was not expected to rule Russia. But when his brother is killed, the people decided to make him king at the young age of eighteen. Vladimir after several years of debauchery and surviving an assassination attempt by one of his wives with his son watching, Vladimir has a spiritual awakening. Vladimir turns his life to Christ. Vladimir's conversion to Christianity lead multitudes of Russians to embrace Christianity.
Kingstone Comics is a comic book company who's goal is to promote the gospel of Jesus Christ. Now being that this book focuses on the conservation of Vladimir to Christianity, you might think that the book would come off overtly preachy, but it is not! It is a very well told historical account.
The life and times of Vladimir Yaroslavich could easily have been a long and boring comic. But it was masterfully condensed into a 64 page book. Now with all graphic novels, this book was an amazing team effort. The story written by Lee Wanaselja with pencil and ink by Branco Jovanovic, colors by Craig Schutt and letters by Zach Matheny.
The book is a true page turner. Once I started reading I could not stop. The colors a vibrant, the images are so real and at time very intense. This is a PG-13 book. Vladimir Prince of Russia has adult themes and violence imagery. It is not of the kids, but teens and adults will love this tale. I really enjoyed this book!
So if you are a fan of historical figures! I highly suggest this amazing tale of the conversion of Vladimir Prince of Russia from Kingstone Comics. If you would like a physical copy of this comic you can head over to KingstoneComics.com or if you would like it on digital head over to Comixology.
