Three actress I have always loved to watch are Katherine Hepburn, Lucille Ball and Marlo Thomas. These three had a real ability to make you laugh, but they were amazing dramatic actresses as well!

In the 1980s these three starred in 4 spectacular made-for-TV movies. Thankfully these movies were not forgotten, but were collected on a 2 disc DVD set.

Our Rating System:
****=Don’t Miss it!
***=Worth a look.
**=An Ok way to spend an evening.
*=You haven’t missed anything.

Laura Lansing Slept Here (1988) Laura Lansing (Katherine Hepburn) is a world-famous novelist who faces crisis when her publisher claims she has lost touch with her readers. Facing retirement, Lansing agrees to live with a typical family for seven days or give up writing forever. ***

Nobody's Child (1986) Marlo Thomas portrays Marie Balter in this true story of a woman abandoned as an infant. Balter endures abuse at the hands of her foster parents, is misdiagnosed with schizophrenia at age 17 and confined to a mental institution for 20 years. But rises above all the troubles. ****

Mrs. Delafield wants to Marry (1986) Katherine Hepburn stars as a wealthy widow Mrs. Delafield. After her Jewish doctor (Harold Gould) brings her back to life. Delafield's gratitude quickly grows into love. Their romance is complicated, however, by the prejudices and greed of their families and other people. ***

Stone Pillow (1995) Florabelle (Lucille Ball) is an elderly bag lady living on the streets of New York City.. She is approached by Carrie (Daphne Zuniga), a social worker, Forabelle introduces her to the underground of Grand Central Station and her daily plight for survival. ****

Viewers are so used to seeing these actresses in their youth. Whether it be Lucille Ball in I Love Lucy, Marlo Thomas in That Girl or Katherine Hepburn in films like Bringing up Baby. But with this collection it is so cool to see that in the later years of their careers that they can still act, and act as good if not better than ever.

Sadly these films are not available on any streaming service. The only way you can watch them is to rent each of them on Prime Video for $3.99 or buy them for $17.99 each. This is why I am such a big supporter physical media.

I bought this DVD for $10 and now I own it forever! See Streaming services go out of business or they loose the right to stream a movie and suddenly a movie or TV series you love is suddenly gone. A company can't take away the DVD or Blu-ray disc you own.

I wish I could suggest a site for you to pick up a copy of this amazing DVD set for yourself but sadly at the time of this righting I could not find one available for purchase anywhere. But if you can ever find a copy I highly suggest you pick it up. It is hours of entertainment!
