The Christmas season is upon us and it is time to watch holiday movies. Movies that you can sit down and watch with the entire family and enjoy without the fear of offensive material.
INSP films bring audiences just those type of films. Mill Creek Entertainment have released a bunch of INSP holiday films this season. We have reviewed Christmas in the Smokies here. Now it is time to look at another one of these DVD release, this time Christmas in the Rockies.
Katie is an ambitious young lady who is ready to leave her small hometown for the bright lights of New York. But an accident changes all that. When her father is hurt in a timber accident, she finds the family business is in trouble. So Katie decides to enter a lumberjack competition to save her family’s business. But when the paramedic who saved her dad’s life also joins the contest, a romance sparks just in time for Christmas.
Christmas in the Rockies is not a movie that is trying to say anything profound, it just is a film trying to bring the holiday spirit and it does just that. Kimberly-Sue Murray is good as the sweet Katie. And it is so cool to see Trish Stratus in this film. Wrestling fans will know that name.
The one thing that seemed a bit off putting to me is the actors that played Katie and her father are almost the same age in real life and it shows. You can tell it and it almost makes the film a little harder to believe.
Mill Creek Entertainment have transferred this film in widescreen format in 1.78:1 aspect ratio. The audio is a 5.1 surround sound. There is also the option for English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing. This movie transfer looks beautiful. The picture is crisp and the colors are vibrant. It really looks nice on DVD.
Now for bonus features found on this Mill Creek Entertainment DVD. There is just four trailers from other INSP films including; Christmas in the Pines, Christmas on the Range, Christmas on the Coast and Christmas in the Smokies.
