In 2015 Imagicomm Entertainment produced a holiday film bringing the beauty of the mountains with the festivities of the Holidays with Christmas in the Smokies. Now the good folks at Mill Creek Entertainment is bringing this holiday film on DVD, all apart of the Christmas Collection line, just in time for the Holidays.
The Haygood family find themselves on the verge of losing her family’s historic berry farm to an impending retail expansion. The headstrong Shelby (Sarah Lancaster, TV's Chuck) not willing to go down without a fight. In a last ditch effort she decides to throw a Christmas concert fundraiser, headlined by her former boyfriend Mason Wyatt (Alan Powell, Where Hope Grows). The only problem is the country music superstar has a track record of consistently disappointing Shelby. Will he show up and will they save the farm? You'll have to watch the film to find out.
While this film is predictable that doesn't mean it's not entertaining! There is definitely chemistry between Sarah Lancaster and Alan Powell. And Barry Corbin from Northern Exposure really stands out in his performance at the Haygood patriarch. But the true star of the show is the Smokies. Just plain visually stunning.
Mill Creek Entertainment has transferred this holiday film in widescreen format in 1.78:1 aspect ratio with a 5.1 Surround sound audio. The colors are vibrant and the majestic mountain range looks gorgeous on DVD.
