Many 70s horror films have gain the status of cult film. The term cult film is a film that has gained a cult following because of a passionate fanbase that keep this film alive and popular because of talking about it.

Arrow Video knows how much these fans want to see there films in the most amazing quality possible, so they go above and beyond to restore these films and give them the deluxe Blu-ray treatment. The latest film to gain this deluxe release is 1971's The Brotherhood of Satan.

The film follows a recently widowed Ben, his girlfriend Nicky and his small daughter K.T. They are enjoying a on a road trip across the Southwest United States. Suddenly the fun comes to an end when they witness an accident. Heading to the nearby isolated desert town of Hillsboro to report it to the Sheriff. When they arrive in town meet a hostile group of locals.

The town is paranoid due to to a series of gruesome deaths, as well as the mysterious disappearance of many of the community’s children. Now it is up to Ben, his family, the sheriff, a local priest and the town’s physician to uncover the truth.

This 70s horror film is a very niche audience film. The idea of devil worship, can be offensive to many film fans. As for the story it is a unique one, but it can be a bit confusing at times, as it jumps around a lot.  The film itself is shot very well and the acting is very believable, but that doesn't make the story any clearer.

As for the film on Blu-ray. The film has been transferred on Blu-ray from Arrow Video in 1080p in 2.40:1 widescreen format. The audio with an uncompressed English PCM 2.0 mono with Optional English subtitles. While this doesn't look to be a new restoration. The picture and audio is clear and clean.
