Trapped Alive (1988) {Blu-ray Review}

Reviewed By Jason Lockard

Trapped Alive originally shot under the title Forever Mine the film  died a quick death upon its initial release, but has since become somewhat of a cult classic! Making it a prefect candidate for an Arrow Video release!

Arrow Video has been giving cult horror films amazing Blu-ray releases for years now! It is time for the next film on the list to get it's Blu-ray treatment!

One wintry night, pals Robin and Monica are making their way to a Christmas party when they're carjacked by a gang of crooks recently escaped from the local penitentiary. With the two young women taken as hostages, things take an even darker turn when their vehicle plummets down an abandoned mine shaft, trapping them underground with the dangerous crooks - and a mutant cannibal.

While the film is nothing overly spectacular in story or in acting. I guess the true star of this film would be the gore. Gore hounds will have much to love with this one. And no doubt with this release the film has never looked better.

On this Arrow Video blu-ray release the film has been restored in 2K from the original camera negative and is presented in High Definition widescreen format. The original mono audio and there is English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing. The restored picture looks and sounds very impressive. Which is no surprise as Arrow Video always does a remarkable job with their releases.

But for the good folks at Arrow Video a beautifully restored film is just not enough!
They always go above and beyond. They load this Blu-ray with bonus features. Here is what is included;

• Brand new audio commentary with director Leszek Burzynski
