Legend: The complete series (1995)

Reviewed by: Jason S. Lockard

There are some shows that are cancelled before they have a chance to really gain it's audience. One such show was a science fiction western entitled "Legend". Thanks to the good folks at Mill Creek Entertainment Legend has made it to DVD for the first time ever.

Legend follows Ernest Pratt (played by Richard Dean Anderson), a gambling, womanizing, cowardly, hard-drinking writer of a series of dime novels, that featured the dashing hero, Nicodemus Legend.

Pratt learns that someone has been using the name of Nicodemus Legend. He find out it's eccentric European scientist Janos Bartok played by John de Lancie who is best know from playing Q in Star Trek The Next Generation. Pratt decides to join Bartok to become the true legend he wrote about in his books.

Let's take a look at the episodes included in this short lived series.

This show is a perfect mix of action, adventure, science fiction, comedy in the old west. I never got a chance to watch this show on it's first run and I have to say I didn't know what I was missing. This is a really fun show and I am not a huge fan of westerns.

This 2 disc DVD set includes all 12 episodes including the pilot movie. Now you would think that the quality of the episodes would suffer, but surprisingly the audio and video is pretty clear. The discs are housed in a flipper DVD keep case, not in the paper sleeves like in previous releases.

So if you are a fan of the tv show Legend or of sci-fi westerns, do yourself a favor and pick up this awesome collection. Head over to www.MillCreekEnt.com or your local video provider and pick this one up today!
