I Married Joan Collection 1 {DVD Review}

Reviewed by Jason S. Lockard

Many say the queen of comedy was Lucille Ball and while I can't deny that, I will say the heir to the throne, or the runner up if you will would  have to have been Joan Davis. She was an amazing slapstick comedian!

Shortly after I love Lucy debuted Joan Davis' show I Married Joan took the air. We all marveled at the sticky situations Lucy got herself into, but the antics of Joan was off the charts. Joan and her husband Judge Bradley Stevens, (played perfectly by the great Jim Backus) keep the masses laughing every Wednesday night at 8 for 3 hilarious seasons.

Now the good folks at VCI entertainment is bringing us this series on DVD! Let's take a look at the episodes included in the I Married Joan Collection 1.

This 2 disc DVD set has all 12 episodes in very nice quality when you realize that these episodes range around 65 years old. There is some imperfections in the picture and in the audio in some episodes. But you have to take into account that these episodes where never supposed to survive! No TV executive ever thought there would be a market for home entertainment so they just never took care of the old tv shows! That is why we lost so many of them! We are lucky we have them at all!

This is a fun collection of good clean family friendly comedy that still holds up to this day.I guess when it all comes down to it! True funny is timeless, and Joan is timeless as well! The collection will keep you laughing for years to come!
