In 2007 the American Comedy-Drama series Shameless debuted on Showtime and rans for 11 seasons and a total of 134 episodes. Now Warner Brothers Home Entertainment have released this entire series on Blu-ray!
Synopsis: Eleven seasons. Six children. But there's only one Frank Gallagher, the proud, working-class patriarch of the independent Gallagher family, who without him would be...perhaps better off. When Frank's not at the bar spending what little money they have, he's passed out, leaving his kids to fend for themselves.
This show takes the viewer on a raw and emotional roller coaster ride of the ups and mostly downs of a family trying to survive life. The cast is a star-studded one. It is led by the great William H. Macy. He puts in a performance that ranks up there with some of his best performances in his career.
This is a Showtime series, so this is an adult series. It features alcoholism, graphic depictions of sex, full-frontal nudity, drug use and there is psychological and physical violence. Including a scene of suicide. This is a truly emotionally charged series.
This series have been transferred to Blu-ray discs in 1080p and are presented in 1.78:1 aspect ratio. There audio options are for English DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1, French Dolby Digital (Season 1 & 2) and Spanish (Season 1). Finally, there is subtitles in English, French (Season 1-7) and Spanish (Season 1-5).
All 134 episodes are spread across 27 Blu-ray discs. The episodes are sharp and clean with no signs of digital artifacts or audio anomalies. But Warner Brothers didn't stop at just throwing this series on a Blu-ray set. Not by a longshot. They added some great bonus features as well. Take a look at what is included.

The featurettes are always a wonderful watch, but for me one of my favorite bonus features is always the gag reel. There is nothing like seeing the behind-the-scenes goof ups. Finally, Warner Brothers added an insert that gives you an episode guide for each disc included on this set. That is a great and welcomed bonus.
Shameless is a series that really digs deep into the dysfunctional lives of broken people. Sometimes there are laughs, but there is a lot of tragic things going on. This is a tough series to get through.
