Yellowstone: The Complete Series DVD Review – A Collector’s Look at what is included in this set

Taylor Sheridan, is an Academy Award nominated screenwriter, producer, director, and actor. He has had quite the illustrious career in film and TV.

In 2018 Tyler Sheridan and John Linson created a western TV series for Paramount+. The western series was Yellowstone. The show ran for 5 seasons. Now Paramount Home Entertainment have released a deluxe DVD box set of Yellowstone for physical media collectors.

Synopsis: Follow the epic saga of the Dutton family, owners of the largest contiguous cattle ranch in the U.S., as they fight to protect their legacy against land developers, political enemies, and threats from within.

Yellowstone is a modern-day version of Bonanza. The cast is led by Kevin Costner in his Golden Globe winning performance as John Dutton III. There are wonderful performances in this series. The writing of these episodes is intense with real human drama. The cinematography is spectacular with gorgeous looking western landscapes.

But while the premise maybe similar to Bonanza. Yellowstone is not a family friendly western series. This series is filled with profanity, violence, sexual content and nudity. It is truly for mature audiences only.

Paramount have transferred these episodes to DVD in 1080p and are presented in widescreen format. The audio track is an English 5.1 Dolby Digital. There are also English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing.

These episode on DVD is crisp and clean. There are no signs of digital artifacts or audio anomalies. They really do look nice on home video. Plus, the greatest part of physical media over streaming this series on Paramount+ is the bonus features. Take a look at what is included on this DVD set.

This 24-disc DVD set collects all 53 episodes of the 5 seasons of Yellowstone, plus over 19 hours of bonus features listed above. The DVD case is a massive flipper case, and the discs are stacked two on each hub. Not the best way to package DVDs. Then there is a spectacular slip case. The slip case is deluxe and feels like rough and grainy like a piece of wood. This is really nice.
