Little House on the Prairie: The Complete Collection Blu-ray Review – A Timeless Family Classic Restored in HD

In the 70s there was a soft spot for the frontier lifestyle. Families would sit down, and watch shows like The Waltons and Little House on Prairie. These kinds of shows took audiences back to a simpler time.

Even in this generation I think there is that desire to go back to those simpler times. Even if it is for just a visit. Well, now Lionsgate has given classic TV fans a chance to visit the Little House on the Prairie anytime, with the new complete series Blu-ray set!

Synopsis
: Little House on Prairie, based on the young adult book series by Laura Ingalls Wilder, was one of the most beloved shows on television when it ran from 1974 to 1983. "Little House" told the story of the Ingalls family's life on a Minnesota farm in the late 1800s.

The Ingalls family were perfectly cast with father Charles (Michael Landon), mother Caroline (Karen Grassle), and daughters Laura (Melissa Gilbert), Mary (Melissa Sue Anderson), and Carrie (played by twins Lindsay and Sidney Greenbush). But the additional cast of characters including but not limited to the Olesons make this show awesome.

Each of the stories throughout this series are written with such love. We watch little Laura Ingalls grow to be a woman, Mary go through hardships. Life was never easy, but in all things, there was he love of family.

Little House on Prairie was a show that you could sit down with the whole family ad watch. Very few shows you can say that about! This series ran for 9 seasons over 200 episodes! Lionsgate has collected all these episodes and more and spread them across 45 Blu-ray discs.

The episodes have been transferred to Blu-ray in 1080p and are presented in the original full screen format. There are three audio options an English DTS-HD 2.0, A French Dolby Digital 2.0 and a Spanish Dolby Digital 2.0. There are also English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing.

These episodes have been remastered and are crisp and clean and look gorgeous in HD. Lionsgate went about and beyond to bring these episodes to life on Blu-ray and make them look as amazing as they do. But amazing looking episodes is not all this set has going for it. Lionsgate has added some great bonus features to this set. Take a look at what is included.
