Brothers After War (2023) DVD Review

The military! I have such respect for them. The brave men and women who put their very lives on the line to fight for freedom. I am amazed that someone would be willing to do that. But sadly, when the fight on the battlefield is over and these solders come home, these veterans still suffer effect of the war.

In 2023 a sequel to the documentary film Brothers at War was made. This film was entitled Brothers After War. The good folks at Mill Creek Entertainment have given this documentary a physical media release on DVD!

Synopsis: Jake Rademacher reconnects with his brothers and elite warfighters he embedded with during the Iraq war in this unique “then and now” journey into the toll of war, and a never-before-seen look at warfighters, and the veterans they become.

Brothers After War is a raw and real account of military men who try to transition to regular life as veterans. I love the fact that Jake Rademacher when making these films didn’t set out to make history — he set out to help his family heal.

This film pulls no punches when it comes to the effects of war on these veterans. There are high suicide rates, anxiety, nightmares and so much more. Just because you are no longer in the battle, doesn't mean the battle is over. That is when the true emotional battle begins.

Mill Creek Entertainment has transferred Brother After War to DVD in widescreen format in 1.85:1 aspect ratio. The audio is an English 5.1 Dolby Surround Sound. And there is the option for English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing.

The film's transfer to DVD is a wonderful one. It is crisp and clean the colors are bright and there are no signs of digital artifacts found on this disc. But as for bonus features on this release. There are none. That is a shame as I enjoy when the physical media release given the viewer additional material.

If you love documentaries and support the armed forces this new DVD of Brothers After War is a must see. Head over to Amazon or Deep Discount and order your copy of this film today.
