Invasion (2007) Arrow Video 4K UltraHD Review

In 1956 there was a film that changed sci-fi forever. That film was Invasion of the Body Snatchers. Then in the 1978 the sci-fi classic was remade featuring Donald Sutherland for another Invasion of the Body Snatchers.

Thirty years after the terrifying Donald Sutherland Invasion film the film was remade yet again, but with different approach. This time it would be led by Nicole Kidman.

Now for the 17th anniversary of Invasion's theatrical release, Arrow Video has decided to release this film on deluxe 4k UltraHD.

Synopsis: A space shuttle crashes to Earth carrying an alien organism. Soon people are changing, becoming detached and emotionless. People like CDC director Tucker Kaufman (Jeremy Northam) who is investigating the crash. Meanwhile his ex-wife, psychiatrist Carol Bennell (Nicole Kidman), sees the same behaviour in a friend of their son, and a patient claims that her husband is no longer her husband. As people all across Washington D.C. become infected and the insidious epidemic spreads, Carol must fight to protect herself and her son, who might just hold the key to stopping the escalating invasion.

Let's be honest here this film had huge shoes to fill. You don't get much more iconic than the original Body Snatchers and Donald Sutherland's terrifying remake. But Invasion wanted to be its own film, and it tries extremely hard to distance itself from its predecessors yet keep the story that will all know and love. Yet in a lot of ways, the film's ambition just doesn't quite work. But I know there are fans of this film. So, this 4K edition will be a welcomed release.

Arrow Video have transferred Invasion to 4K in 2160p the Ultra HD Blu-ray presentation in Dolby Vision (HDR10 compatible). The audio track is the or
iginal lossless DTS-HD MA 5.1 audio. There is also the option for English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing.

This film looks and sounds amazing in 4k! The clarity of the film's picture is amazing. There is no signs of digital artifacts and the audio is clean with no anomalies. Fans of this film will be impressed with this 4K transfer. But that is not all that is included here on this release. Arrow Video added some great bonus features. Take a look at what is included.
