In The Line of Duty IV (88 Films Blu-ray Review)

Last year 88 Films released a special box set of In The Line of Duty featuring 4 feature films in the series. Now some collectors like the individual artwork displayed on there shelf as apposed to a box set. So 88 Films have given those film fans a chance to have these films the way they want them. Giving each of the films their own Blu-ray release.

With the first three film released on individual Blu-rays, it is time to continue the series with In The Line of Duty IV. But what does this movie
 look and sound like on Blu-ray and are the bonus features something that you want? I am going to answer those questions right now in this review!

Synopsis
Donnie Yen and Cynthia Khan play two cops from both sides of the Pacific on the trail of a drug trafficking syndicate. Khan and Yen discover to their dismay that the syndicate has more than one insider working in the law enforcement agencies. As they break the rules to save a witness, the two find themselves pursued by American assassins, Hong Kong gangs and the law.

No doubt if you are reading this far you already know what the In the line of Duty film series is like. Awesome martial arts action. And even though this is the end of the series they go out with a lot of Kung fu bang for your buck!

88 Films have transferred In The Line of duty IV to Blu-ray in 1080p and it is presented in 1.85:1 aspect ratio. But this is not just any transfer it is a transfer from a 2K restoration. There are two audio options a 2.0 original Cantonese language version and the ultra-fun (in my opinion) 2.0 English dub. There is also the option for English subtitles, so you can enjoy the true original experience if that is your thing.

The picture quality is amazing. The colors and the fleshtones are so rich, and the picture shows no signs of damage and there are no digital artifacts. This is another great restoration by 88 Films! But that is not all that is included on this Blu-ray! Take a look at the awesome bonus features included.

* Audio Commentary with Frank Djeng and Michael Worth
* Archival commentary by Hong Kong expert Stefan Hammond and lead actor Michael Wong
* Archive Interview with Donnie Yen
* Hong Kong Trailer
* English Trailer
* Reversible sleeve featuring original Hong Kong artwork

88 Films added not 1 but 2 audio commentary! The archival interview is a truly nice addition as well as cool trailers. I truly love the attention to detail that 88 Films puts into their releases. It shows they love physical media as much as we do!
