In The Line of Duty III (88 Films Blu-ray Review)

Last year 88 Films released a special box set of In The Line of Duty featuring 4 feature films. But some physical media fans prefer individual Blu-rays on the shelf as opposed to a box set. I understand that, and so does 88 Films. So they have been giving each of the films their own individual Blu-ray release.

This time around we are looking at the third film in the action-packed series. In The Line of Duty III. Now on deluxe Blu-ray. But what does the picture look and sound like? What are the bonus features? These are good questions, and we are going to answer them in this review!

Synopsis
: Inspector Otaka (Hiroshi Fujioka) vows revenge after an armed couple (Stuart Ong and Michiko Nishiwaki) stage a shocking jewelry heist, ending in bloodshed and the death of Okata's assistant. Meanwhile, Rachel Yeung (Cynthia Khan), a rookie cop in Hong Kong, ends up entangled in the same mess with the detective when the Japanese thieves make their way to Hong Kong. Together, Otaka and Yeung are on a mission to bring the cold-blooded and desperate thieves to justice.

If you are reading this, you already know how cool these films are. They are action packed martial arts adventures that really put you right on the front line of the action and part III is no different!

88 Films have transferred In The Line of duty III to Blu-ray in 1080p and it is presented in 1.85:1 aspect ratio. But this is not just any transfer it is a transfer from a 2K restoration. There are two audio options a 2.0 original Cantonese language version and the ultra fun (in my opinion) 2.0 English dub. There is also the option for English subtitles, so you can enjoy the true original experience if that is your thing.

The picture quality is spectacular to say the least. The depth of the colors and the Fleshtones are so rich and the picture is crisp and clean there is no signs of damage that I could see and there is no digital artifacts. This is just a beautiful looking transfer! But that is not all that is included on this Blu-ray! Take a look at the awesome bonus features included.

* Audio Commentary by Frank Djeng & Michael Worth
* Interview with John Sham by Frédéric Ambroisine

I really enjoyed the English credits, a very nice addition. The audio commentary is extremely insightful, and I love additional artwork. So, for me to see reversible artwork that is just amazing! I truly love the attention to detail that 88 Films puts into their releases. It shows they love physical media as much as we do!
