Armstrong (2019) Blu-ray Review

When you think astronauts most people with think of one name and that is Neil Armstrong. In 2019 a documentary film was produced about the life and times of this amazing American. Now five years after this film's release. Gravitas Ventures are releasing it on Blu-ray.

Now a generation who experienced Armstrong's first steps on the moon and a new generation who couldn't learn more about who he was, what made him want to explore and much more.

Synopsis: Dramatic, moving and insightful, ARMSTRONG tells the definitive life story of Neil Armstrong: From his childhood in rural Ohio, through aerial combat in Korea, to his first steps on the Moon, and unwanted celebrity status that ensued.

This documentary is an extensive look at the life of the first man on the Moon. Though not a perfect documentary. It can be a bit slow in spots, but it still works well. One thing this film really has going for it is Hollywood legend Harrison Ford provides his iconic voice as the narrator.

This documentary has been transferred to Blu-ray in 1080p and is presented in widescreen format in 2.35:1 aspect ratio. There are two audio options of Stereo 2.0 or 5.1 Surround Sound. There is also the option for close captions.

This Blu-ray transfer is crisp and clean with no signs of digital artifacts. The audio is clear with no hiss or pops. The colors are bright and vibrant. This is a tremendous looking transfer. But that is not all that this Blu-ray has going for it! Gravitas Ventures added some cool bonus features. Take a look at what is included.

* Deleted Scenes
: Working at the local airport / First Flight in the Panther / Edwards & Yeager / Flying  the X-15 / Both Sides Choose Pilots / The New Nine / Problems with Gemini / Phone Call: Unlocking  the Lunar Module / Trans Lunar Injection / Madame Braz

* Additional Scenes
: Algebra / Valerie Anders / LLTV Crash / Gerry Griffin's Neil Armstrong Story

* Behind The Scenes
: Gemini 8 Capsule / Flight of Fancy

As you can see this Blu-ray includes the 100 minute documentary film, but I love the addition to other scenes not used in the film. And the behind the scenes featurettes. Awesome! For me Blu-ray releases are more than just the film they are the bonus features and I am glad they added bonus features to this release.

The only thing that i really wished was different in this release would be if it was a pressed disc. This Blu-ray was produced on a Made-On-Demand disc. Pressed discs are more durable and have a longer life expectancy. But if you store your burned disc properly, they should last a very long time.

I have watched A&E Biographies so much. It is no telling how many biographies I have watched over the years. From actors and actresses to mob bosses. From gangsters to president and more. I am so glad I got to watch this biography of Neil Armstrong.

If you enjoy watching biographies as much as I do. I believe you will enjoy this new Blu-ray release of Armstong. If you would like to add this Blu-ray to your biography collection head over to Moviezyng.com  and order your copy today!
