Looney Tunes Collector's Choice Volume 3: Blu-ray Review

Warner Archive have been releasing Collector's Choice Blu-ray of classic Looney Tunes cartoons. We have seen the releases of Volume 1 And Volume 2. So what's next? Of course it would be Volume 3 it's just when would it happen, Well in an amazingly fast turnaround of a mere 3 months, the wait is over Volume 3 is here!

In this Volume of classic Looney Tunes we would see such iconic characters as Bugs Bunny; Daffy Duck; Elmer Fudd; Road Runner; Foghorn Leghorn, Sylvester and Tweety and many more. One this Blu-ray is collected 25 cartoon adventures.

* A Feud There Was (1938): Egghead is part of a family of hillbillies feuding with another hillbilly family.

* China Jones (1958): Daffy Duck is China Jones, a fortune-seeking private eye. He finds a call for help in a Chinese fortune cookie and decides to investigate.

* Cinderella Meets Fella (1938): A updated telling of the Cinderella. When the fairy godmother is late, Cinderella calls the police, who put out an APB and find her in a bar. Things keep getting worse.

* Dumb Patrol (1963): Biplane battles over France in World War I between Bugs and Baron (Yosemite) Sam Von Shamm.

* Egghead Rides Again (1937): City dweller Egghead dreams of being a cowboy, but his bouncing around gets him kicked out of his boarding house. 

* Elmer’s Pet Rabbit (1940): Elmer buys a rabbit that he felt sorry for at a pet store. But this purchase turns into a nightmare.

* Hobo Bobo (1946): Little Bobo the Elephant decides to leave a jungle, where he is assigned to the thankless task of moving logs with his trunk, for a glamorous life in a circus in America.

* Honeymoon Hotel (1934): In Bugtown, two honeymooning lovebugs at the Honeymoon Hotel in town, due to the fact, that their love is a little bit to hot.

* Hop Skip and a Chump (1942): A grasshopper is chased by crows who seem strangely simpler to Laurel and Hardy.

* I Only Have Eyes For You (1937): The iceman is in love with a pretty girl, and an old spinster is pining and cooking for him.

* Mexican Joyride (1947): Daffy heads south of the border for antics in the bullring.

* The Mouse on 57th Steet (1960): A mouse borrows a diamond thinking it was a piece of ice all in hopes of treating a hangover. 

* Mr. and Mrs. Is the Name (1934): A boy and girl mermaid get on the wrong side of an octopus.

* Of Rice and Hen (1953): Foghorn Leghorn is the object of Miss Prissy’s affections once again.

* Pre-Hysterical Hare (1958): Elmer and Bugs appear as prehistoric predator and prey..

* Punch Trunk (1952): A tiny elephant finds civilization and freaks out all those who live in the city.

* Quentin Quail (1945): An exasperated Mr. Quail tries to catch a worm for his whining daughter, Baby Toots.

* Riff Raffy Daffy (1948): Patrolman Porky Pig orders vagrant Daffy Duck out of different places he chooses for shelter. 

* Saddle Silly (1941): A Pony Express rider's adventures in getting the mail through Indian country.

* Sheep Ahoy (1954): After Sam the sheepdog punches in for work he must protect the flock about Ralph the Wolf. 

* The Sheepish Wolf (1942): A flock of sheep is being watched by a sheepdog. A hungry wolf tries to disguise himself.

* There Auto Be A Law (1952): A documentary style cartoon that tales the development of the American automobile.

* Tugboat Granny (1956): Sylvester tries to get Tweety from her cage on board Granny’s tugboat.

* War and Pieces (1963): Coyote ends up in China were he tries again to catch an Asian Road Runner.

* Wet Hare (1961): Black Jacques Shellacque returns, this time trying to take Bugs’ water supply.

These classic cartoons have been transferred to Blu-ray in 1080p in the original full screen format in 1.37:1 aspect ratio. There are two audio options an English DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 and a Spanish Dolby Digital. There are also subtitles in English, French and Spanish.

Warner Archive Collection continues to amaze me with the picture and audio quality of these classic cartoons on Blu-ray. The colors are bright, and the audio is clear. These cartoons look amazing in HD! This Blu-ray release breathes new life to these cartoons.

I am loving these Collector's Choice Blu-rays of Looney Tunes. We have seen three volumes, and my hope is that we will hear, "Abade, Abade, Abade... That's not all folks. I am looking forward to a Volume 4. I am already thinking what kind of cartoons could be included.
