Heroes In Blue {DVD Review}

Reviewed by Jason Lockard

The police have one goal and that is to protect and serve the public. It is a dangerous job, but somebody has to do it and the brave men and women in blue are there for us. Sometimes not getting the respect they deserve Mill Creek Entertainment is bringing the five-part documentary series on DVD.

The docu-series examines how police departments not only protect the public but also reach out in the most surprising ways. From stories of heroism to the outreach programs.

Disc One: A Hero's Call | A Hero's Sacrifice | A Hero's Reach

Disc Two: Hometown Hero | American Hero

This documentary series features real-life officers telling real-life stories. The episodes are masterfully produced and brought to us by Emmy Nominated directors Bill Brennenstuhl and Paul Stenerson. The episodes are interesting and thought-provoking. After watching this I have a greater respect for the Heroes in Blue.

As for the transfer. Each episode is presented in Anamorphic widescreen and in 1.78:1 aspect ratio and in Dolby Digital audio. The episodes also have the option for English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing. They look and sound really good.

As for the DVD packaging itself. The two DVD discs are in an eco-friendly case. Each Disc has it's own DVD hub which is nice no stacking here! Which will make many DVD collectors happy!

This release isn't for everyone. But if you love documentaries as much as I do than Heroes in Blue is right up your alley.
