Gary Cooper is widely regarded as one of the best actors in cinema history. He even secured the #11 spot on AFI's 50 Greatest Screen Legends list!
Now Warner Archive has released here recently two Blu-ray collections of Classic Hollywood stars. Of course I am talking the Elizabeth Taylor Collection and the Clark Gable Collection. So why not a Gary Cooper Collection as well! Let's take a look at what is included in this set.

Sergeant York (1941) A Tennessee farmer is drafted in World War I but being a pacifist, he struggles with military life before becoming one of the most celebrated war heroes. ****
Friendly Persuasion (1956) A Quaker family just wants to live a quiet and happy life but that is tested with the American Civil War. ***
Love in the Afternoon (1957) A private detective is hired to entrap a middle-aged playboy with his client's wife, but in the meantime the playboy becomes fascinated with the PI's daughter. ***
The Hanging Tree (1959) A doctor with a dark past's life is complicated by a young thief, and a Swiss immigrant whom he nurses back to health. ***
Warner Archive have restored and transferred these films to Blu-ray. Each film receives their own Blu-ray disc. These films have been transferred in 1080, Sergeant York is in 1.37:1 aspect ratio, Friendly Persuasion and The Hanging Tree is in 1.85:1 aspect ratio and Love in the Afternoon is in 2.35:1 aspect ratio. The audio tracks for these films are a DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0. There is also the option for English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing.

Okay so Sergeant York is loaded with bonus features while the other 3 discs, not so much. But the restoration is really too good to pass up when it comes to this release.
