Kirsten Dunst Double Feature

Reviewed By Jason Lockard

The first time I ever remember seeing Kirsten Dunst was probably like many as Mary Jane Watson in Sam Rami's Spider-man Trilogy. I thought she did an amazing job as the iconic comic book character. But ever since then I have been interested in discovering more of this actress's work.

Well the good folks at Mill Creek Entertainment has released a double feature of dramas that feature Kirsten Dunst. Little Women in a co-starring role and in the starring role as Marie Antoinette. This double feature is now on blu-ray. Let's take a look at this release.

Our Rating System
**** = Don't Miss it!
***= Worth a look.
**= An OK way to spend an evening.
*=You haven't missed anything.

LITTLE WOMEN (1994) Louisa May Alcott's classic coming-of-age story comes to life and  follows the childhood adventures of the four free-spirited March sisters: Meg (Trini Alvarado), Beth (Claire Danes), Amy (Kirsten Dunst) and Jo (Winona Ryder). Jo is determined to become a writer. She chronicles the family's struggle during the war, romances and their lasting friendship. ***

MARIE ANTOINETTE (2006) An Austrian teenager (Dunst) marries the eldest son of the king of France. She soon becomes the country's queen. After living the life of luxury and privilege, Marie Antoinette meets a horrible end. ***

Both of these films are well written, acted and directed pieces of cinema. They are both captivating movie expereinces. I am so glad to have had the opportunity to check these amazing films.

As for the transfers, these two features have been transferred in widescreen format and in
1.85:1 aspect ratio. The audio is 5.1 Dolby digital and there is an option for English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing.

The movies are found on one Blu-ray disc. Both films run around 2 hours long. That is over four hours on a Blu-ray disc. That is plenty of space and these films to live on. Both of the features look and sound great on this release. There is little to no sign of pixelation in the picture and the sound is crystal clear.

So if you are a fan of dramas or Kirsten Dundst this double feature Blu-ray is a great source of entertainment. I highly recommend heading over to MillCreekEnt.com or your local Blu-ray provider and get your copy today.
