The Best of Continental Wrestling Volume 1 {DVD Review}

Reviewed By Jason Lockard

In the '80s and 90s, there was a wrestling boom. Everyone seemed to be watching. But after the Monday night wars, it seemed no longer the thing to do to watch wrestling. So many of the companies died.

Well, it seems that we are entering another interesting time as wrestling companies are beginning to become popular again. So now is the perfect time for a look back at some classic wrestling.

Jadat Sports is releasing 5 volumes of The Best of Continental Wrestling. We are going to start at the beginning with Volume 1. Let's take a look at what is included in this set.

It is always great to hear the amazing voice of Gordon Solie doing the commentary. He brings such a realistic feel to the wrestling product.
He is one of the best ever in the history of wrestling.

This DVD is filled with memorable wrestlers from yesteryear including; Dick Slater, Kevin Sullivan, Robert Fuller, who would be known to most as WCW's Colonel Robert Parker, former NWA World's Champion Tommy Rich, Brickhouse Brown and Adrian Street. What an amazing roster Continental Championship Wrestling had.

On this almost 2 hour DVD, I have to say that some of the matches are started already in progress, which is a bit of a bummer. But I do like how Jadat Sports follows the storyline through the war with the Fullers and the Armstrongs, mixing in more match. Very cool!

Now the audio and video of each match and segment vary. Some are more clear than others, but I would call none of them unwatchable. The Interview with Ron Fuller is part 1 of 5 which will be spread out over the 5 volumes. Which will make this a must add to any wrestling fan's collection.

So if your a classic wrestling fan, or want to witness some of the greats of yesteryear. The best of Continental Wrestling Volume 1 is a good place to start!
