Dramatic Thriller Double Feature {Blu-ray Review}

Reviewed By Jason Lockard

We all love that adrenaline rush that comes from a thrill ride. Whether it's amusement park rides, dirt bikes or just watching a thrilling film. There is something about that thrilling experience that keeps us coming back for more.

Well, the good folks at Mill Creek Entertainment knows that and they have put together a little double feature Blu-ray featuring two dramatic thrillers from the 90s. Let's take a look at what is included in this 2 movie set.

Our Rating System
**** = Don't Miss it!
***= Worth a look.
**= An OK way to spend an evening.
*=You haven't missed anything.

The Trigger Effect (1996) When a mysterious power failure occurs in a major city, it leads to social unrest. There is no electricity, no cash machines and no telecommunication. With a loss of these things we take for granted society breaks down and all rules are out the windows.  ***

Body count (1997) A perfect plan for the perfect art heist, but something went horribly wrong. The thieves are on the run with $15 million in masterpieces. The cops are on their tails and a mysterious woman is along for the ride. The crooks have to get rid of the loot, but how can you throw away a fortune?  ***

Both these films take you on an action packed thrill ride. Are they the best thrillers ever made?..No, but they make a nice way to escape the cares of life for an hour and a half.

These two films are filled with great actors and actresses including;
Kyle MacLachlan, Elizabeth Shue, Dermot Mulroney, David Caruso, Linda Fiorentino, John Leguizamo, Ving Rhames and Forest Whitaker.

It is good to note these are not of the kids and teens these are adult thrillers. There is a lot of profanity, violence and sexual content. So make sure the kids stay away from these two releases.

As for this Blu-ray release both films have been transferred in widescreen 1.85:1 aspect ratio and in dts-HD Master Audio 5.1. There is also English subtitles for the deaf and hearing impaired. That is a nice little bonus there. As for the film transfers these two films look and sound really impressive to me. I have zero complaints.

So if you love thrilling adventures. This is a great little double feature of 90's thrillers will be right up your alley. You can head over to MillCreekent.com and pick up your copy today!
