In the 90's mind altering sci-fi films were all the rage. Filmmakers loved to explore the "what if" virtual reality and computers would destroy our minds. Because of this came many interesting movies.

Mill Creek Entertainment has released a double feature Blu-ray of 90's mind altering sci-fi films. Let's take a look at this Blu-ray.

Our Rating System
**** = Don't Miss it!
***= Worth a look.
**= An OK way to spend an evening.
*=You haven't missed anything.

Mindwarp (1991) The film takes place in a post-holocaust world. A woman uses a computer program for entertainment purposes. But a glitch in the system sends to a much more dangerous wasteland. There she must deal with monsters called Crawlers. She is saved by a young rebel, but only for a short time as they are soon captured again and brought underground to the evil overlord known as the Seer. **

Brainscan (1994) A lonely teenager orders the latest video game. The only problem is the high-tech wizardry attacks his subconscious. This leads him through a deadly maze, while being pursued by a detective and prodded by The Trickster, he is torn between two world.  ***

While these two 90's sci-fi films may not be the best sci-fi films of the 90's they still hold a lot of nostalgia for fans of 90's cinema.

The stories are typical 90's sci-fi. The action is great. The special effects are good for the 90's. there is a lot of entertainment value in these two films.

Fans of Bruce Campbell will revel in the fact that he is in "Mindwarp". These two films can also boast of acting talents of Edward Furlong, Frank Langella, Marta Alicia, Angus Scrimm and T. Ryder Smith.

These two films are not for the kids. There is some profanity, violence, scary images, and sexual situations in both films. But I think the adults will love the cheesy 90's goodness.

As for this Blu-ray release both films have been transferred in widescreen 1.85:1 aspect ratio and in dts-HD Master Audio. There is also English subtitles for the deaf and hearing impaired. A very nice bonus there. The films look and sound pretty good for low budget sci-fi films of the 90s.

So if you love diving into the world of sci-fi. This is a great little double feature of 90's Sci-fi. You can head over to MillCreekent.com and pick up your copy today!
