We have been taking a look at some of these awesome releases here! Now it's time for the next release.
John Candy was a comedy genius who's life was cut too short. Who knows what others comedy gems we would have been blessed with. One of John Candy's comedy films, 'Who's Harry Crumb?' is the next in the Retro VHS Blu-rays.
Harry Crumb (Candy) is a big-hearted, soft-headed private eye who is also a master of disguise. He is the last of the line of great sleuthing Crumbs. When a young heiress is kidnapped, the president of the detective agency Crumb & Crumb Eliot Draisen decides to put Harry on the job, but there is a bigger reason than solving the case. What is it? Well, that is up to Harry to discover if he can.
The story is little predictable, but funny and well written. While this film is not John Candy's best film, it does give a good look at his comic character genius. He wears different disguises each one funnier than the last one.
It is good to note this film does have a little profanity. There is also some sexual situations most of the time played for laughs, but they are still there. So this film is not for kids.
On this blu-ray the film is presented in 1.85:1 widescreen format and DTS-HD Master Audio. The film looks and sounds pretty impressive when considering the film is almost 30 years old. There is no bonus features, but with renting VHS tapes you remember getting the movie! This is what makes this like going to the video store, just with better picture quality!
Sometime you just want to sit down and escape the cares of this life and have a laugh, and 'Who's Harry Crumb?' will bring you some laughs, even if it's not over the top hilarious.
Now the cool retro VHS looking slip cover is the star here. Featuring that weathered look and stickers that say 'Comedy' and 'Please Rewind'. This is nostalgia!
