Call of the Undead {DVD Review}

Reviewed by Jason Lockard

Ever since George Romero's Night of the Living Dead the horror genre has never been the same. Now it seems like every time we turn around there is another film about zombies. Now Wild Eye Releasing has given their take on the zombie genre with Call of the Undead.

The film takes place during a virus breakout in a cartel-controlled city that turns people into zombie creatures. As military teams are dispatched to evacuate residents, they quickly become trapped between the violent criminals and an army of undead. In a last ditch effort, the cartel and the army join forces in order to fight their way through the city before the infected can stop them.

While there is a lot of action and gore that does not make a good film. The story felt a little jumbled to me. The acting was a bit forced. Also this film is a very adult film. There is a lot of adult language and violence extreme and there is some sexual situations and nudity!

Now as far as the DVD release goes the film is presented in widescreen format 2.0 audio. The film looks and sounds really good. But the only bonus features included on this release is English subtitles for the hearing impaired.

There are some people who love all things zombie related. And this film will have its audience.

So if you or someone you know is a zombie movie fan than this one might be right up your alley. Head over to www.Amazon.com and get your copy today. Don't forget to check out the catalogue of films from Wild Eyed Releasing.
