Scrooge (1935) {Blu-ray Review}

At Christmas time you will find countless films about or based on Charles Dickens’s A Christmas Carol. Well, Legend Films has given one of the first adaptations it’s rightful place on Blu-ray; 1935’s Scrooge starring Sir Seymour Hicks.

Charles Dickens’s classic tale is that of an old miser named Ebenezer Scrooge (Hicks) who is shown the true Christmas Spirit by Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future. Sir Hicks and the cast bring to life this tale without the advent of CGI and I have to say do a masterful job.

This Blu-ray is one amazing collection for Christmas. It not only has the re-mastered black and white classic, but also includes the colorized version which surprisingly breathed new life in this film. You also get great Christmas cartoons which all children young and old will love.

Now that’s enough, but Legend Films went a step further in this Blu-ray release and included a bonus DVD of one of my family’s favorite holiday films Jimmy Durante in "A Christmas Wish".
